My goal in this course is to help you acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and implement the marketing, sales, and operational functions in the convention, meeting and trade show industry. We will accomplish this goal by reading, thinking, and writing about two types of decisions management are responsible for in the convention, meeting, and trade show industry. This covers the areas of:

·         Convention Sales

·         Convention management and services.

These decisions depend on defining the problems, determining the cause, taking corrective action and developing sound control strategies and plans. Underlying all of these activities must be an understanding of managing revenues and expenses to meet expected profits. Therefore, we will cover these topics as well.
